Short books to listen to during flight or while waiting for the flight

For those of us who travel, there are times during the journey when you wished you could do something productive. There is always the good option of listening to some good literature or audio books.

The waiting time while we patiently sit and watch people go around on the airport lounges till we hear the airline announce that our plane is ready for boarding or even as we get airborne and level up at those 39000 feet for those couple of hours, often gets either spent in sleep or in watching whatever they serve up on the in-flight entertainment systems.

Using this time to listen to and finish an entire book can be a very enriching and fulfilling experience. Imagine, using the details from the business or self-help book in your meetings and discussions for which you have traveled halfway across the world.

Even for short flights, locking on to your favourite audiobook on your mobile can help. The journey can be really relaxing and de-stressing. Many are opting for these apps and audio books to keep their children busy and occupied during the flights.

Here is our recommendation for a few short books that are less than 200 pages long. Naturally, their audiobook versions are short too and you can probably finish each in a couple of hours. We recommend these as a good list that you can consider the next time you are traveling for business or for leisure:

  1. Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
  2. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
  3. The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway
  4. The Time Machine by HG Wells
  5. Animal Farm by George Orwell

Tick the list when you download and finish each of these and you can bask in the glory of having listened to these all-time classics. Time-saving at its best…!

If you have any suggestions or would like to add to the list, feel free to send in your comments and other readers can benefit from your knowledge as well.
